The well-known Co-Op mod for Half-Life has recently just had another major update. For those who don’t know, this is a coop mod that allows you to play through the Half-Life 1 campaign as well hundreds of varied custom maps (with their own style and objectives) with your friends. On top of that Sven-Coop adds numerous weapons, game-play enhancements, and engine improvements to spice things up.

On some system configurations, Battlefield 3 exhibits extreme stuttering issues as well as random video artifacts rendering the game unplayable. This problem frequently happens on Geforce GTX 560 TI cards however other video cards can experience it too. There is currently a workaround, until DICE and Nvidia can debug the problem and fix it.

You know that whole debacle about MW2 not having dedicated servers?  It just got even worse, with Infinity Ward confirming that there is a 18-player cap on the PC version online, which is is the same cap imposed on the console versions.

Want to get Borderlands a little early and stay up a little late? …Basically, you now have only one excuse for not getting Borderlands tonight if you’re into the game and you’re in the US, and that is not wanting to go to GameStop and stand in line at midnight. Which is actually pretty reasonable.

Starting November 11th, all WoW players will be required to login using Battle.net accounts.   Makes sense as Blizzard is really trying to push the Battle.net 2.0 platform, finally getting rid of redundancy and consolidating everything into one account.

The PC version of Borderlands will be hitting stores this 26th of October, which is unfortunately a week after the console versions  hit.  This game promises to bring a unique perspective on the first person genre by incorporating MMORPG elements along with an interesting artstyle.

Super Street Fighter IV has been announced today as a stand-alone separate title.  The game will include 8 new characters, improved online play, and balance changes to all the current characters based of feedback from the community. 

Today, Valve released Crash Course, a DLC campaign add on for Left 4 Dead that aims to close the gap between the first and second campaign.  It is available on PC free of charge and $7 for Xbox 360 owners.

News has come forth that Left 4 Dead 2 has been refused classification in Australia.  While it isn’t necessarily banned, it has the same effect. Below are the reasons highlighted in the official report.

Remember the full refund promised by a Wolfenstein developer if the game sold more than Madden? Well you can forget about that, NPD Group has released sales for Wolfenstein and revealed the game sold poorly.

As you may or may not have heard, people have developed programs that would simulate you being in a server ‘idling’.  You would just leave it on overnight, then in the morning, wake up to loads of goodies in your inventory.

So GameTrailers has released a trailer revealing BioShock 2’s multiplayer gameplay.  After watching the trailer though, I wasn’t thoroughly impressed with any of the aspects of it. 

Check out the new trailer for Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer.  At the end, there is a reveal of the new host migration support where if the host drops out, the game will seamlessly reconnect everyone to a different host.  Shortly after, the player executes a throwing knife kill. Here are Steam’s and Direct2Drive’s last week sales charts.  Not much has changed since the previous week, although with the THQ Collectors Pack getting a $20 price cut, it has managed to sneak on last week’s steam charts.

Following the critical acclaim of the new Batman game (yes finally!), it has been given the record of the ’Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever’. It’s kind of odd to me that such a record exists but you know, Guinness World Records seem to have records for everything nowadays.

Last week’s weekly sales for PC games via Steam and Direct3D were published.  It was a winner for MMOs, specifically Aion and Champions Online. Aion is getting great reviews from outlets and I myself cannot wait to get my hands on it when it hits stores next month.

So we already know about the Barbarian, the Witchdoctor, and the Wizard classes for Diablo 3.  Now, with Blizzcon upon us, we have the Monk joining our legions as another soldier in the fight against darkness.

Today is the release of ID Software’s remake/sequel of Wolfenstein (Developed by Raven Software).  We will be playing it and reviewing it in the coming days. Anyone get it yet? Leave your impressions in the comments!

Over at the Treyarch forums, there is confirmation from a community manager that Map Pack 3 which includes new maps and new zombie map will be coming to the PC.
