Twitter: The New Shakespeare?

So according to the Telegraph.co.uk, twitter and other social networking sites have been used as a means to add hundreds of new words to the Collins English Dictionary.  They note words such as ‘hmm,’ ‘heh,’ and ‘meh’ as having been added due to the younger generation using them in common speech as well as online.

Review: District 9

WARNING: This review contains spoilers. So this movie took me by surprise when I watched it with my mother on Friday.  Everyone has been telling me how good of a movie it was, but I was still a bit skeptical.  That is, until I actually saw it.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Gameplay

So apparently at the Game Crazy convention, there was some gameplay video taken and leaked onto youtube.  So here it is!

IBM and Atoms!

So apparently IBM has taken pictures of atomic bonds for the first time ever.  The picture below is an image of an actual molecule with carbon and hydrogen atoms sticking together.  Kind of like something you would see out of an organic chemistry class. I think this is very exciting news.  We all know that [...]

PS3 Sales up 30%

The drop of the price for the 80GB PS3 model had an immediate effect on the market.  This week, sales have already increased a whopping 30% according to VGChartz.  It seems that the overall sales have not been as high as they would have expected though.

First day of classes again!

So, exciting news: school started.  Again.  It’s funny how ever since you turn about 5 years old, you start going to school.  Then you basically stay in an institution for at least the next 12/13 years.

Canaan Figure

So a little while ago I wrote my impressions of Canaan, an anime season that is currently ongoing.  Well it seems that Good Smile Company is currently making a Canaan figurine that is now available for pre-order.

Saturday: How do you take a break?

So Danny and I have been working basically non-stop on ChenZen the past week or so getting the site up, writing posts, publicizing, talking to people, and trying to stabilize our server space, among many other things as well.  So I officially declare that every Saturday, starting from this Saturday, to be “material gathering day.”  [...]

Diablo 3: Enter Monk

PS3 Slim – $300…really?

So the guys over at Kotaku just confirmed that this $300 price cut isn’t all what it seems right now.  So what is it really?  Well Kotaku found a nice Japanese article that showed what you’d actually be spending on the new little piece of hardware.

Review: Wolfenstein

So last night I was able to grab the new Wolfenstein by id software and published by Activision.  I sat down and played straight on through with maybe a 20 minute break in the middle, so I’m going to try to put everything I thought about this game now while it’s still fresh. I guess [...]

The Android Tablet – wait what?

So recently at [Pocketables], there were a bunch of images released of an unidentified Android MID (Mobile Internet Device).  So far I haven’t been able to find any information on this device, aside from the pictures, but it looks like it will be pretty awesome.

Canaan Impressions

So another series that I have been watching this summer season goes by the name of “Canaan.”  The plot of Canaan isn’t the most original, but it’s a pretty good “girls with guns” take.  There’s action and some kind of plot (which I haven’t quite figure out yet, but I’m working on it).  The first [...]

IchiUmi [一海]: Japanese Buffet

So Danny took me, Riceboy0019 (Sherman), and a few other of our friends to a Japanese Buffet near Menlo Park Mall in New Jersey last night called IchiUmi (or One Ocean if I’m right).  To be honest, I wasn’t expecting too much from a buffet, but was going to try to eat more than my [...]

We’re sorry

So we’ve been experiencing almost 12 hours of downtime since we last saw many of you, if you’re actually still with us.  First, our webhost was having trouble their SQL servers last night, which prompted us to just wait for it to fix and come back up.  Then, this morning – after confirming that the [...]

Wolfenstein Release: 8-18-09

Wait, that’s in 4 days right?  So [Activision] will be releasing this new iteration of Wolfenstein, and I think it actually looks pretty decent.  It’s not a game that I’m absolutely waiting for, but it’s about to come out and having played [Return to Castle Wolfenstein], I figure I’ll probably give this a spin eventually; [...]

Yankees vs. Toronto: Game 2

So Tuesday I went to a baseball game.  The game was the New York Yankees vs. the Toronto Blue Jays.  Went with three of my friends via the train to New York from New Brunswick.  One of my friends lives on the Rutgers campus, so we went to his house first and then walked over [...]

[Brian Lam] has recently confirmed the existence of the Apple Tablet.  He had gotten an encrypted message from someone who wanted to give him the scoop on the device. Brian recounts his whole tale of getting in contact with his source, ‘[redacted],’ and what [redacted] says, but here are the details you probably want to [...]

Bakemonogatari Ed – Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari [君の知らない物語]

So I realize I just posted about Bakemonogatari, but the ending single disc came out today.  That means I had to grab it, listen to it, and post about it.  I think I mentioned this in my previous [Bakemonogatari] post, but the person who composed this is Ryo from [supercell] who features the singer Nagi [...]

Team Fortress 2: New hats!

So the Team Fortress 2 team has released a new update yesterday.  And it isn’t for any particular class!  It’s “The first ever classless update.”  Now what new exciting features does this classless update entail? Hats! A whopping 18 of them.  I mean, doesn’t seem like much of an update other than that, but we [...]

Bakemonogatari

So as always, I’ve been watching a ton of anime, but this particular one has perked my interest quite a bit.  Bakemonogatari, which is a play on the words ‘bakemono’ which means ‘monster’ and ‘monogatari’ which means ‘story’ is based off a bunch of light novels by Nishio Ishin.  So essentially ‘Bakemonogatari’ means Monstory or [...]

8 on the Break

So the other night I went with Misfire and Kaisuri to 8 on the break.  This is the local arcade that is near our houses.  Actually, it’s the only arcade near our houses, but they’re usually stocked with a few of the newest games out there.  The place is kind small and the interior resembles [...]

uTorrent 2.0 Beta

So utorrent has released a 2.0 beta with UDP support.  I assume you all already know that utorrent as one of the best bittorrent clients on the web for Windows (along with a mac beta client), so adding this just reinforces their position.  Whether on my PC or hackintosh, I love to use utorrent and [...]

Weird sega commercial

So it’s talk amongst yourselves time at Kotaku and I was just browsing the comments when I came upon this video relatively quickly. Basically the kids are talking about how lame Sega is and how Playstation is better.  The words stick on his mind all day and he ends up going  to a batting center [...]

Constructing a shed

So today my dad needed me at home to help him construct a new vinyl shed in the backyard.  The entire process took about all day, but it was nice to be outside in the nice weather and actually accomplish something.  The way that people manufacture “do-it-yourself” construction kits is pretty ingenious.  It’s almost like [...]

Zelda not at E3, but at Kotaku?

So I was pretty distraught when I learned that the Nintendo Press conference lacked a title I was hoping to hear – the next Zelda.  While I do not own a wii, I still believed that I would play the next Zelda, but with no new word – who’s to say when that could be?
